Membrane Affinity Isn't Key to How MinD Proteins Form Gradients

Bacteria keep their proteins organized using gradients, even though proteins move really fast inside the cell. A system called MinCD helps stop tiny cells, called minicells, from forming in rod-shaped bacteria. This study found that how fast proteins move, rather than how sticky they are to the cell membrane, helps keep these gradients in the bacteria.
